CV Christopher Couch, M.D.

Dr. Couch is a board-certified Allergist & Immunologist who joined Allergy Asthma Clinic in 2016. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also a member of the American Contact Dermatitis Society. Dr. Couch treats allergic and immunologic disorders in both adults and children. He has particular interests in food allergies, asthma, aspirin allergy, nasal polyps, contact dermatitis, and chronic urticaria.

Dr. Couch graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in Physiology and Developmental Biology with a minor in Spanish from Brigham Young University. He earned his medical degree with a distinction in community service from The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. Throughout medical school, Dr. Couch volunteered at the Wesley Center, a community clinic in south Phoenix. He decided to pursue a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology following a clinical rotation with Dr. Schubert at Allergy Asthma Clinic in 2011.

Dr. Couch completed his residency in Pediatrics at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas. While in residency he was inducted into the medical honors society, Alpha Omega Alpha, and awarded “Resident of the Year” by the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Couch completed his fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Dr. Couch has authored several abstracts and publications in the field and given presentations at both national and local conferences. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Arizona College of Medicine, Dr. Couch assists in the instruction of medical students and residents. His research interests have included food allergies and asthma. One of his studies that focused on tree nut allergies garnered national media attention.

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Couch grew up playing soccer and snowboarding at Mt. Hood. In 2001 he moved to Arizona where he met his wife. They are the parents of three children. Dr. Couch and his family enjoy bike rides, snowboarding trips, watching movies, and playing board games together. He is an avid runner who also enjoys rock climbing and hiking.
